Picea abies 0,6–0,8 m

Norway spruce is a tall evergreen tree that can grow to 25-30 m in height and 8-12 m in width. Its needles are four-sided, 1-2.5 cm long and 1 mm wide, with a sharp tip. Its cones are large, 8-16 cm long. Its crown is conical, and the branches stand horizontally or bend downward in an arch, rising at the tip. It prefers sunny to partly shaded spots and well-structured, nutrient-rich soil. Its root system is shallow and spreading. It is not suited to dry, poor soil or to an urban climate, as it likes humid environments. It is most often used as a Christmas tree.

Balled conifers (dug out of the ground) are planted during the dormant period, from mid-October to the end of April, except when the ground is frozen.
